Summer Picnic, Presentation and Tour Beautiful Joe Park, Meaford
Did you know of Joe? He is Canada's most famous dog immortalized by Margaret Marshall Saunders in her 1894 popular, best selling book Beautiful Joe.
Come and join us at the Pavilion at the park for our picnic at 12:30 PM. Roast beef on a bun and beverages provided. Bring salads and other mains and desserts to share for this potluck. Bring your dishes and cutlery. Bring a lawn chair.
This will be followed by a presentation from Sharon Mansion and Lynda Stephens of the Beautiful Joe Heritage Society.
Following the presentation they will lead us on a tour of the 8.5 acre park on the banks of the historic Bighead River.
The public are welcome to attend.
