April meeting - Grey County Artists

The Grey County Historical Society meets next on April 15, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. at Walter's Fall Community Centre

President Tom Cole will conduct a short Annual Meeting and Election for the coming year. The proposed change in fees will be voted upon. Members received notification on the proposed changes to the constitution in the February issue of The Grey County Historian. Of course, only members will be able to vote.

At 2:00 p.m., Rod Saunders will exhibit a collection of the Early Artists of Grey County. Grey County has attracted artists to this beautiful county for many years. Here is your opportunity to view and learn more about these artists. Some of the featured artists will be Kate Andrew, Clare Bice, Allan Cameron, Johnson sisters - Flo Campbell, Annie Rogers & Agnes Sinclair; Nettie Douglas, Chuck & Margo Finley; John Geerts, Garnet Hazard, Robert Kemp, George Thomson and Horace Vick.

A panel of painting enthusiasts will provide particulars about some of these artists. The afternoon will also feature a special display of the paintings and sculpture of the late John Landon, Sr.

We hope you will be able to attend. You do not have to a member to attend our meetings.

Tickets for the May 20 annual dinner will also be available for purchase at this meeting from members of the Board of Directors or you can contact us at info AT greycountyhs DOT ca.
