This unique home built in the 1890s by John W. Redfern, a local hardware store owner has a fascinating history. Located beside the Billy Bishop Heritage Museum, it was sold in 1909 to Police Magistrate David Creasor. It eventually became the U.S. Consulate and then the home of Colin Russell of the prominent boat building company for some 52 years. Today it is the elegant home of Michael and Marcella Leeper. GCHS members only will be privileged to tour the home. We will also have the pleasure of meeting local writer and columnist Jennifer McGuire who will tell us about her new magazine, The Tin Roof Press.
