Happy New Year

Greetings to everyone as we begin a new year. Have you made any New Years Resolutions? If you have, I hope you have included some that relate to being an active member of the Grey County Historical Society.

Perhaps, you live too far away to attend the meetings on a regular basis and think you can't be an active member, but you can be involved. Become a member and twice a year you will receive The Grey County Historian that is filled with interesting articles. Do you have knowledge about an aspect of Grey County history? Our editor would welcome your article for either the March or November issues. Perhaps, you can help with us with one of our projects. Watch for more details on our mapping of places of worship in Grey County.

I hope you can attend one of our interesting meetings. The location, time and topic vary each month. Meetings are held each month except December and January.

Although there is no regular general meeting in January that does not mean the Society is idle. The Board of Directors will meet this month in Markdale for lunch with a planning meeting to follow. The Awards Committee will meet to design the judging criteria for the "Grey County Historical Society Heritage Certificate of Recognition". The committee members are looking forward to receiving nominations. Remember that the deadline is February 1st so be sure to get it in before then.

Best wishes for a healthy, happy 2010.
